Practitioner Does Not Share a Common Discipline
Problem
This can occur when attempting to select a service code in a progress note form, where Avatar shows a variation of the following error:
This error is directly from a selection in the Discipline field in a staff member’s practitioner account, as the service codes available to staff are determined by the selection in this field.
Solution
The first thing to do is to verify that the correct service code is being used. Not all service codes are available to staff based on licensure/credentials, so please check with your supervisor before proceeding. If you are indeed selecting the correct service code, here are the next steps:
Check with your program’s admin staff to confirm the correct selection was made in the Discipline field. This is in the Practitioner Enrollment form in Avatar and not all staff have access.
If the selection in Practitioner Enrollment is confirmed as correct, then you can send an e-mail to CalAIM@telecarecorp.com
Make sure to include the exact service code you are trying to use and let them know which selection you have in the Discipline field
Please note that Avatar support will not make changes to resolve this issue, as this is mainly an internal program issue, or a configuration issue that will need approval from the CalAIM team.
