Service Program - no selection

Problem

When accessing a progress note, the "Service Program" field is blank and has no selections. As this field is required, it prevents the user from completing/finalizing their progress note. 


**Please note that as of , within the ACT root (this is where Community Template programs reside) this field is not visible and the solution offered below is NOT applicable. For a full list of programs within the ACT root, please refer to the Avatar Reference Guide - System Codes 

Solution

This is usually caused by a missing selection within the Practitioner Enrollment form on the user's practitioner account. This account is created by program staff in most cases, but for LA-based programs using the IBHIS web services, this is done by an internal Telecare resource (Karen Marshall as of ). Normally this should fill in automatically for the user based on whichever program the client is enrolled into, but the user must also be associated to that program for the auto-fill to complete. 

If your program creates their own practitioner accounts (and again, for all applicable programs, most do this internally apart from LA County IBHIS programs), this is the solution:

  1. Contact the staff that has access to the Practitioner Enrollment form (often AA/HR, OC or MRT positions) and they can take care of it by accessing the Practitioner Enrollment form and checking off the appropriate Program Association and submitting.
