Error code 40000: Failed to process drawtype (signature error)

(full error code) Error code 40000: Failed to process drawtype: com.ntst.radplus.client.drawtype.SignaturePad

This issue can arise when attempting to use a touchscreen within Avatar to insert signatures into specific forms (i.e. Treatment Team Review, others). When clicking the “Get Signature” button, this error could pop up and block further progress.

Solution

This error is caused by a setting within an individual user’s Preferences that is not checked off, causing Avatar to look for a physical signature pad. To avoid this error, follow these steps:

  1. Go to your Preferences, located near the top right corner of Avatar on your Home View

  2. Go to the General tab

  3. Check the setting that says “Use mouse or touch for signatures”

  4. Click Apply (at the bottom)

 

You may want to log out/back into Avatar to make certain the setting has taken full effect
